Easter Weekend.. Spring has Sprung

Easter came and went too fast.
The bunny paid a visit to our house bringing more candy and clothes than we know what to do with.

Luke could not have been more excited... well about everything right now.
Greg said to me the other day-
"Babe I don't think he is napping well because he is so excited about trying to stand up and crawl all over the place".  I don't think he could be more right

With the newness of spring in the air - it seems everything is getting a fresh start and or change.
Luke is on a new schedule all together now- which is still a little under transition- I will keep you posted.
He is into his big boy car seat. And when he is not sleeping all he wants to do is move, move move...

 Swimming starts back up again this Saturday lets hope he remembers how much he loved it the last time we went.

7 and 1/2 months

The Simple Things

 Well here we are Friday night. Greg at work again this weekend which gives me every reason to break out the computer and start blogging.
And what do I find to blog about...well you guessed it Luke.

I mean how can I not write about him. I could tell you about my day at work, or how I have spent hours on line looking at pre-schools, or what I had for dinner tonight.. all so boring all the way down to the cheese quesidilla. So instead you get to hear all about the little man.

He now has 5 teeth showing. The top two just broke through this week.  And a new one to join the other two on the bottom.  Thank God they all made it through without too much whimpering or sleepless nights.  It wasn't bad at all really- In fact all he does lately is smile!

 We took him to his first Padre game a few weeks ago.  It was their home opener against SF.
It was quite the day, very busy downtown. Greg had decided we were going and without a ticket or a plan we arrived downtown to the hustle and bustle of opening day. He was so excited to take Luke to his first game. And not just any game, but opening day!
Once we got down there through all the chaois Greg scored us a great parking spot and some tickets. And we enjoyed a beautiful day at Petco "park".

 

 We are getting ready for Easter this weekend and I'm sure I will have lots to report on. So hopefully I will have another blog post soon. But I will leave you with a few of my favorite photos from the last few weeks and of course another video or two.

His newest ventures are crawling on hands and knees and pulling himself up to standing. He is OBSESSED! He will crawl over to anything he can reach up to and pull himself up and smile and laugh. It's the best!

7 months

We made it over the hump. Luke is 7 months old - inching closer to a year already.

Life is great for a baby at 7 months old.. and even more fun for us.
I really feel like he is starting to develop his little personality and become so much fun lately.
He is a happy baby- and laughs spontaneously now whenever I clap or laugh out loud at him.
He is determined and strong willed when he wants something- especially something I don't want him to have (like climbing on the fireplace). And he loves playing with charger and chasing him around the room. Charger is not too sure of Luke some of the time but as you can tell has no problem letting Luke know he "loves" him.

Life for our little Luke has become more consistent and predictable which is beginning to make me feel more "normal".
He eats about every 4 hours plays and naps in between.
He is crawling all over the place and even beginning to pull himself up onto furniture to a semi-standing position.  I have a feeling he will be an early walker.
He also has another tooth poking through on the bottom but none on the top yet.
We started finger foods this month and watching him try and pick them up and put them in his mouth is quite entertaining.

Spring is in the air here in San Diego. We have had some really nice and warm weather inspiring me to outfit the little man with some spring attire.

And no spring arrival would be complete without a street fair or two. So we headed down to the San Marcos street fair today to take in the bbq, vendors and maybe even sneak in a little kettle corn.

My parents have now left San Diego back to Iowa to embrace their spring and summer weather. I do miss the seasons back "home" and on some days feel nostalgic for the smell of fresh cut grass (Iowa grass) - an ear of sweet corn (Iowa sweet corn) and the spring storms. Maybe I will have to go back to visit them after all they did for us out here this winter.
I will miss my Mom being here and can not thank her enough for all she did for us while she was here.
I'm sure it won't take her long to come back out to visit the little man.. after all how could you stay away from this ..
