The Waiting Game

Well here I am at 39 weeks. Every day I wake up and think today will be the day and then another day passes.

I had a doctor appointment last week where I was told I am 3cm and 90% effaced and she could feel his head. (which is weird by the way). She then proceeded to tell me it could be any day now.. even today. After the appointment I was having a lot of contractions and thought for sure it would be Tuesday or Wednesday that I had this little baby. But sure enough the contractions subsided and Tuesday and Wednesday passed without the arrival of our new son.
over the last week we decided to start a new landscaping project.
My mom has been here and what started out as her and Greg doing a little trimming on our hill turned into a complete gutting and removal of 1/2 the trees on our hill- planting new flowers and ending the weekend by hiring some Mexican workers to unload a dump truck of mulch and spread it out over the hill.
Oh yea and we found a massive bee hive to boot and had to hire an exterminator to kill off the hundreds of bees that were swarming in our back yard.

All of this has been so great but still no baby. I even did some planting and weeding and still no baby. He is playing hard to get because every day I have some form of contractions and sometimes they will be consistent, every 5-6min but then go away after half an hour. Then I begin thinking this is it.. then it isn't it! It's like he is just playing mind games with me. (typical male)

So in the meantime I am trying not to think about it every second of every day. I am going on a walk today and then if nothing else. Greg and I are going bowling on Wednesday as this was the catalyst that spun his Mom into labor.
Greg wants the baby to come Wednesday night or Thursday so he dosn't miss class or his last day of work. Maybe Luke knows that...

I cant wait for my next post to tell you all about the delivery and show off pictures of the new little guy.

37 weeks and holding strong

37 weeks let the countdown begin...

Well I had my 37 week check up today. No baby yet.
2 weeks ago she told me I am 2cm dialated and 70% effaced. She hasn't checked me since. I am dying to know but I guess in the long run nothing matters until I start feeling those contractions. She said she will check me next week.
Coming down to the end is pretty crazy. I am ready!! As ready as I can be. My bags are packed and loaded, I have all his clothes washed, read every book on baby, birthing and breastfeeding and feel like it's just time now.
Over the last 2 weeks I have really grown and nothing is easy anymore. Especially sleeping. I am more resting till my bladder fills up then doing it all over again. This usually happens every 2 hours. I guess your body just knows how to get you ready for the baby. I think the worst is when I wake up to go and then can't fall back asleep and find myself thinking about everything and anything at 4am.
I only have 2 more days of work left. That is also such a strange feeling. I hope I go a little early so I don't find myself bored sitting around. I have even contemplated painting my bedroom and bathroom.. don't worry Greg would kill me if he found me up on a ladder. I will just dream of having my bedroom a different color maybe while I'm up at 4am thinking about everything and anything.
I know a lot of you have wanted to see pictures of my big ol' belly so I have posted them. Please understand most of my photos lately have been in my Pj's and this is because the only time I remember to take my photos is after work and that's about all I can muster to wear. But trust me I do wear real clothes during the day.
Greg and I had some maternity photos taken professionally about 2 weeks ago so I will be sure to post those too when I receive them.
